With injuries mounting, Locomotive FC will be looking towards the depth of the roster to take on a bigger role through the USL Championship playoffs. One of those who could come up big in Locomotive’s second post-season run, is Jamacian native Saeed Robinson. The forward in his first year with Locomotive has begun to hit a stride, scoring three goals in recent weeks to lift Locomotive to clinching the top seed of Group C. As Robinson begins to grow in confidence, take a look at his career and what has brought him to El Paso. (Bret Bloomquist, El Paso Times, 10/8/20)

FORMER FC JUAREZ STAR-STRIKER LEANDRO CARRIJO EARNS HIS FIRST GOAL IN A LOCOMOTIVE JERSEY
This past Saturday night, the FC Juarez leading goal-scorer found his first goal under the Locomotive banner in the 19th minute of the Western Conference Quarterfinals against FC Tulsa. Carrijo followed through on a poor back pass on the Tulsa backline to pass in the opening Locomotive goal, before celebrating the occasion with a brace in the 82nd minute, heading in a corner kick to ensure Locomotive and Tulsa went to added extra time and ultimately a penalty shootout. The Brazilian native joined Locomotive FC in July, coming from FC Juarez where he scored a club-leading 73 goals across 102 appearances.
A SUMMER WITHOUT BASEBALL IS LIKE THE SPRING WITHOUT RAIN
It is silent – so sadly silent – as the warm breezes float through beautiful Southwest University Park, where the boys of summer go to make magic, that place where they go to make their dreams live or die. This ballpark and so many parks around the nation have been our summer playground, the place where wide eyed children and so many men and women who are still children at heart go to cheer and jeer and fill the air with laughter and joy. THE PADRES MADE A STATEMENT IN 2020
In a season unlike any before it, the Padres made a statement in 2020. One of the most exciting teams in franchise history put forth one of the most successful seasons in franchise history. They became “Slam Diego.” And with one of the youngest rosters in baseball, there’s more to come. (MLB.com, 10/9/2020)
PADRES' REMARKABLE 2020 TURNAROUND DEBATED BY OPTIMIST, PESSIMIST
The Padres of 2020 offer up a litmus test, gauging whether someone views the unprecedented circumstances of a season turned on its top with a glass half full or half empty approach. The franchise that snapped a 14-year playoff drought improved dramatically in almost every measurable way. They smashed records and grabbed the nation by the remote while becoming Slam Diego, despite bobbing through a sea of asterisks in an abbreviated season. [FORMER CHIHUAHUAS] MANNY MARGOT LATEST TO STAR FOR TAMPA BAY RAYS WITH 3-RUN HR, STUNNING CATCH IN ALCS GAME 2
Margot was the star of Tampa Bay's 4-2 victory in Game 2 of the AL Championship Series, as the Rays grabbed a 2-0 lead in the series by showcasing Margot's skills on both sides of the ball. "Manny, he has really turned it on with the home run," Rays manager Kevin Cash said of the outfielder. "We didn't see many during the regular season, but I think he's got now three huge home runs for us here in the postseason. (Bradford Doolittle, ESPN, 10/12/20)
RAYS STRIKE FIRST IN ALCS WITH A GAME 1 WIN OVER THE ASTROS
Way beyond center field, up nine floors of an apartment building, two people held a sheet painted for Rays outfielder Hunter Renfroe. It read "FROE #11" and had a red bull's eye in the corner. The point — the joke, really — was for Renfroe, a former San Diego Padre, to muscle a homer into the white fabric. The reality was that he would need a rocket launcher. "I feel like we have it," Manager Kevin Cash said when asked if his team has a specific nose for winning. "I think the guys in our clubhouse feel that we have it, that knack. . . . The one thing that you learn with our club, over 60 or 162, is that we're in a lot of tight ballgames." (Jesse Dougherty, The Washington Post, 10/11/20)
