Chihuahuas Officially Extend Padres Affiliation
The El Paso Chihuahuas have accepted the San Diego Padres’ invitation to continue as their Triple-A affiliate after signing the Major League Baseball Professional Development License. The agreement will extend the affiliation for 10 years – through the 2030 season.

Minor league baseball changes unveiled with regional alignment that impacts Chihuahuas
Major League Baseball has reorganized its minor leagues in a 120-team regional alignment that impacts the El Paso Chihuahuas. Under the model unveiled Friday, the Chihuahuas have been placed into the East grouping of the Triple-A West. (Associated Press, KVIA ABC-7, February 12, 2021)
Defender Andrew Fox Re-Signs for Third Year with El Paso Locomotive
Locomotive veteran defender returns for a third year, after signing a multi-year deal with the El Paso club. Cementing himself as a mainstay as a left-back in the Locomotive defense, Fox re-signs as the 8th player to return for a third year, and the 13th player to return from the 2020 squad.

Former Chihuahuas Outfielder Traded to Boston
Franchy Cordero, who played in 115 games for the El Paso Chihuahuas from 2016-2019, has been traded from the Kansas City Royals to the Boston Red Sox. It was the second time in the last year that Cordero was traded. He went from the San Diego Padres to Kansas City on July 16, 2020. (Darren Hartwell, NBC Sports Boston, February 14, 2021)
